St. Andrews by the Sea is a National Historic District with many very old homes in fine condition. The historic architectural legacy is highly valued by  residents and visitors alike.

The Garden Gate is nicely located in town, about 5-10 minutes walk to most amenities. You can walk to the Algonquin Hotel and Kingsbrae Gardens (www.kingsbraegarden.com). Most restaurants and shops are a short stroll away.  You will need to drive to the Algonquin Golf Course (ask about our special golf packages) or Ministers Island. We are just two blocks from the water's edge, but far enough from the core that peacefulness is often considered our main asset by our guests.

Ours is a three story historic house. Guest rooms are located on the second and third floors, and guest common areas and the dining room are on the main level.

You can picnic on our grounds if you wish and enjoy the gardens and birds.

We have adequate off-street parking for all guests. Please enter the driveway from Augustus Street.

Sorry, we cannot accommodate pets.

Children are welcome. Our rooms accommodate two persons only.

Foodies take note: St. Andrews is a culinary destination. We have many fabulous restaurants! There is something for everyone, in all price ranges. Evening dress can be casual. Ask us about where reservations are needed.

There are many fine and unusual shops in town, where you can find just the right piece of art or souvenir to take home. Water activities such as whale watching or kayaking are readily available. There are many attractions in town. Visit www.townofstandrews.ca or www.standrewsbythesea.ca
